Choose to Diffuse

Speaking of things that make my small New York City apartment feel homey…my diffuser! I got her a few years ago as a Christmas present from my mom - I have the Ellia Adore Ultrasonic Aroma Diffuser in smoke - and I love her so so much (the diffuser and my mom). Smells are very important to me - they set an atmosphere. I obviously have an obsession with candles, that’s a given, but there’s something different about a diffuser. It whispers soft smoke into the air and provides an essence for your room. In the morning I love to use citrus oils - sweet orange, lemon, lime, grapefruit - to keep me alert and focused. At night, lavender and the Ellia “fight it” wellness blend (orange, lemon, cinnamon, eucalyptus, rosemary, cardamom, and clove) are my go tos for relaxation and immunity. If I’m ever feeling tense and in need of release, I’ll plop in some droplets of eucalyptus or tea tree oil. And peppermint really helps for anytime I am feeling clogged up or stuffy.

Not only does my Ellia provide scent and essence, she sets a tone - a mood - with her color illuminating orb. This feature can be turned off or on and faded upon request, but during the day I love to keep it on and watch her oscillate through all the colors in a vibrant, yet muted, fashion. Another surprising, and useful, feature is her sound. She offers a slew of meditative musical patterns that harken back to those wonderful spa day or massage experiences where you didn’t have a care in the world. I often flip through these if I’m having trouble shutting off my mind at night, and need a calming presence to help me fall asleep. She comes with a remote and is very easy to clean and take care of. I highly recommend Ellia, or a diffuser of the kind - she’s a reliable, encouraging, and creative household companion, and a great addition to any space.
